Federal holidays and long weekends in 2028
Veterans Day 2028 falls on a Saturday and is therefore observed on the Friday before, so every template shows it on November 10, lengthening that weekend. Juneteenth on Monday, June 19 and Christmas Day on Monday, December 25 supply two more three-day weekends, while Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4 is the one worth bridging: take the Monday and the break runs to four days. January is the oddity - New Year's Day 2028 falls on a Saturday and is observed on Friday, December 31, 2027, so it appears on the 2027 templates and the year here opens with January 1 on a weekend. 2028 is a leap year: February 29 falls on a Tuesday, and the extra day pushes every date from March onward two weekdays later than in 2027 rather than the usual one.
