Interesting facts about the month of July
The month of July is the seventh month of the year and the fourth of seven months that have 31 days (the others are January, March, May, August, October and December). July's name derives from the Roman statesman Julius Caesar, who instigated the calendar reform of 46 B.C. and in whose honor it was named (July in Latin: Iulius), it being also the month of his birth.
- The zodiac signs for July are Cancer (until about July 22*) and Leo (from about July 23*).
- July begins with the same day of the week as April and in leap years also as January.
- While July is rarely used as a first name, a lot of names are derived from the month of July, e.g. Julian, Julia, Julianna and Juliette.
