Australian public holidays in our calendars
Australia's nationwide public holidays are New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. All other public holidays such as Easter Saturday (called "Saturday before Easter Sunday" or "The day after Good Friday" in some states and territories), Queen's Birthday, Labour Day and others are individually declared by the state and territory governments (Labour Day is observed in each state and territory but is varied in date).
We show only the most widely observed public holidays in our calendars. For detailed information about public holidays in Australia please see the information provided by the
Tourism Australia and the very clear table of all public holidays and their regional validity on
Wikipedia.
